We specialize in quality, remanufactured transmissions for both domestic and foreign cars and light trucks. We also stock many hard to find automatic transmissions. Alternatively, we can offer a custom remanufacturing of your existing transmission with a fast turnaround time. Remanufactured Transmissions VS. Rebuilt Transmissions:
Our most frequently asked question is what are the differences between rebuilt transmissions (sold by others) and remanufactured transmissions (sold by us). While these terms tend to be used interchangeably by the consumer, there are some substantial differences:
A. A rebuilt transmission typically only corrects the failed and worn parts, and many times are re-using the other parts as-is, or replacing the parts from another used transmission. We would consider this to be a much less reliable product than our own.
B. At Transmission Parts Masters, our transmissions undergo a much more extensive remanufacturing process in which the completed transmission meets and exceeds the original equipment manufacturer�s (OEM) specifications. In this process, the following takes place:
1. The transmission is completely disassembled; all parts are thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
2. The valve body has been disassembled; all parts are thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
3. Electrical/electronic components, such as solenoids (if equipped) have been inspected, tested, and if needed, replaced with new or remanufactured components.
4. 'Soft' parts, such as seals, gaskets, o-rings, etc. are replaced with new.
5. 'Hard' parts, such as planetary gears, shafts, pumps, etc. are thoroughly inspected. Any worn, damaged, or out of spec parts replaced with new.
6. Remanufactured Torque Converter supplied.
7. Transmission is Dynamometer tested for proper operation prior to shipping (subject to test machine software availability for the particular model).
In summary, our remanufactured transmissions to be far superior to the rebuilt transmissions offered by others in the industry. Each of our remanufactured transmissions has a limited warranty against defects for 18 months/18,000 miles,which is one of the longest in the industry, with longer warranty options available at an additional charge.
